Seaport of Adelaide
Port Adelaide, with the code AUADL, is situated in the city’s suburbs (exactly 14 km away) in Southern Australia. It is the principal port for this city. It has played a very important role in the growth of Adelaide, as well as of the entire Southern Australia. It is through this port that information flowed from all around the world. At first, the port was supposed to be here only for a brief time, but it ended up staying here for good. However, that’s because it was cheaper to just leave the port be. Its external part was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The port was adapted such that various types of ships could be accepted without any major problems. Between 1920-1930, the port’s waterfront underwent drastic change; above all, the overpass that had been situated near the port was removed. Not far from this port, there are numerous hotels and pubs dating back to 19th century. They are very well preserved, attracting tourists to the port’s vicinity.
