New York is a seaport with the code USNYC, located in the United States. The port’s full name is the Port of New York and New Jersey. It is the largest port complex on the East Coast. It is third among the US transshipment ports. It is located at the mouth of the Hudson River, flowing into the Atlantic Ocean. The port has a surface area of 3900 km2. It is situated 40 km from the Statue of Liberty in New York. The port complex consists of seven goods ports, including: Port Newark (NY, mixed), Port Elizabeth Authority Marine (NY, container), PA Auto Marine Terminal (NY, cars), Brooklyn Piers (NY, mixed), Red Hook Container Terminal (NY, container, ro-ro), Howland Hook Marine Terminal (NY, container) and the terminal handling passenger traffic – Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Aside from that, it is worth noting that the port has many terminals constituting private property. It is the most important transshipment port in the US when it comes transshipment of cars. It is an important transshipment point for bananas and cocoa.
