Acajutla is a seaport with the code SVAQJ, located in Salvador. The city is situated at the coasts of the Pacific Ocean in Middle America. It is the country’s principal seaport. Its main exports include coffee, sugar and balsam of Peru (natural Commiphora resin). The port’s construction was connected with the city’s growth. Large amounts of money were invested in order to adapt the port to modern needs and in order for it to grow. The port inaugurated its activity in 1961. It is managed by CEPA.

Acajutla’s population numbers 18,008 residents. There is a tropical savannah climate here, and it’s very hot and humid. Acajutla has a deep-water port. As the port is well equipped, it can facilitate the transport of goods from the ship to the land and vice versa. The facility operates quite effectively, making it possible for the city to grow thanks to large-scale export of goods.
