Seaport of Colon
The Port of Colon, with the code PACLO, is a facility situated in Panama in the province of Colon, in the city of Cristóbal. The Port of Colon is located near the Caribbean Sea, has an entrance into the Panama Channel. The country’s capital is the city of Panama. Cristóbal was founded in 1850 by Americans. Most of the city was burned down during the Colombian civil war. The city was scorched again in the fire of 1915, when the Great Fire occurred, destroying a third of the city. The city has a port in which there is a Free-Trade Area. The city in its prime was known mainly for its nightclubs, cabarets and cinemas. Since 2014, the city has been undergoing reconstruction. New parks and alleys will be built, and historical buildings will be rebuilt. The city is located in the tropical monsoon climate, experiencing massive rainfalls from May to December.
