The Port of Pasir Gudang, specifically Johor Port, is located in Malaysia. The port’s code is MYPGU, and it is managed by Johor Port Berhard. It is the first multifunctional port in Johor that makes it possible to transship all kinds of cargo. It is also the first Malaysian port located in a Free-Trade Area. Thanks to this, the warehouses located at the port are not obligated to pay any duty. Payment is made only when the cargo is to be transported out of the warehouses for local needs. Since 1993, the port has been entirely the property of the government. The facility was privatized in 1995. Currently, the port is managed by Seaport Terminal Sdn. Bhd, while the port’s owner is MMC Corp Bhd. It has a yearly throughput of 1,000,000 TEU. The terminal is equipped with 6 gantry cranes, 19 transfer cranes, 46 prime movers, a dedicated rail depot connected to nationwide rail network. It has 70,000 m2 of warehouse space for container storage.
